Nothing keeps a bird's feathers in top shape like a good bath. You can help your birds keep their feathers in top condition by creating a birdbath made of items available around your home.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• Plastic or metal garbage can lid
• Small rocks and/or pebbles
• 3 bricks or blocks of wood
• Cool water
• Water pitcher
1. Locate an open, level spot in your yard and arrange the bricks (or blocks of wood) into a triangle shape.
2. Turn the lid upside-down, and place it on top of the bricks. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure that the lid is stable.
3. Spread the rocks and/or pebbles over the deepest part of the bath.
4. Add water the bath. The water should be 1/2 - 3/4 inches below the rim.
*Make sure the bath is in an open area so predators, like cats, cannot surprise your bathing birds.
