Some birds like to feed on the ground.
Most ground-feeding birds prefer millet and other seeds such as sunflower. Use a tray feeder, such as the Wild Birds Unlimited Ground-Feeding Tray and our Select Blend or No-Mess Blend.
Some birds like to feed at elevated feeders.
Typically these birds prefer black oil and striped sunflower seeds, safflower and sunflower chips. Fill a Wild Birds Unlimited Seed Tube feeder or choose a hopper from our exclusive Signature Series or Fundamentals line of feeders. We recommend using our Supreme Blend or Choice Blend.
Some birds like to eat at an elevated feeder as well as on the ground.
Our exclusive line of Classic bird feeders is designed to feed birds at the feeder and on the ground. The patented design of these feeders – the Classic, Classic Too, Classic Mini and Classic Double Decker – is perfect for feeding a blend that accommodates both elevated and ground feeding.
